Scintrex CG-5 Autograv

The Scintrex CG-5 Autograv is a high-precision automated gravimeter, specifically designed for applications such as geophysical exploration, geological surveys, engineering measurements, and archaeological research. It offers high resolution, portability, and several automated features, making it an ideal choice for field gravity measurements.

The CG-5 relative gravimeter operates on the principle of using a capacitive sensor and electronic feedback. The object under test experiences a change in gravity, which causes the length of a quartz spring to change. The capacitive sensor measures the displacement change, and the system returns to its starting point, determining the necessary voltage to calculate the change in gravity. This method allows the CG-5 to provide efficient field measurements, with gravity values being obtained within just one to two minutes at each point.

The CG-5 has an internal memory of 12Mb, which can be used for continuous observation at a fixed point. The duration of recording depends on the sampling frequency. The related accessories for the CG-5 include the main gravimeter unit, a triangular base, GPS antenna, transmission cables, charging dock, and carrying strap.
