Ocean Surveyor ADCP
A moored Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) is an acoustic flow measurement device fixed to the seabed or anchor, capable of long-term, stable monitoring of current speed and direction at various depths. By emitting sound waves upward or in multiple directions and receiving their echoes, this system records high-resolution flow structures throughout the water column. It is especially suitable for long-term monitoring, marine environmental assessments, and tidal current resource surveys. Since it is fixed in place and unaffected by vessel motion, it provides continuous, high-quality time series data. This makes it a fundamental tool for studying water dynamics trends, internal tides, and seabed cable site selection. It is widely used in coastal areas, harbors, deep seas, and offshore energy sites.
