Sediment Microsensors

沉積物微電極系統
  • Unisense sediment microelectrodes can be used to measure pore water in sediments, soils, and beaches. The microelectrode probe is slowly inserted into the sediment or soil, allowing continuous profiling and monitoring.
  • The Unisense sediment microelectrode system consists of a control unit, stepper motor, and microelectrode probe. The probe is mounted on the motor, and the control unit programs the motor’s movement time and speed to achieve the desired sampling frequency.
  • By inserting the microelectrode probe into sediment samples, it measures the microenvironment without damaging the sediment structure and causes minimal disturbance, reaching equilibrium quickly.
  • It enables in situ monitoring, with the probe slowly moving downward under software control, allowing continuous profiling at a fixed point.
  • This system can measure dissolved oxygen, hydrogen, hydrogen sulfide, pH, redox potential, temperature, etc. However, our facility currently supports only dissolved oxygen and temperature sensors for Ministry of Science and Technology projects.
